Lake Stevens Education Foundation Chair Sponsor Recognition
The Foundation's endowment for the support of education in Lake Stevens has
grown through the generous contributions of community members, families and
businesses. The Foundation raises funds through the sponsorship of chairs in
the Performing Arts Center. Recognition of these generous contributions appears
on the distinctive plaque in the foyer of the Center. The plaque is a slab of
Emerald Pearl granite from a quarry in Sweden. The 6' x 5' slab was cut and
polished in the shape of the theater. Name plates identifying the chair
sponsors are arranged on the plaque.
If you would like to participate in sponsoring a chair, you may select from
three different levels of support:
Patron - $500.00
Sponsor - $250.00
Friend - $125.00
Your gift will be added to the permanent endowment fund. The investment income
from the fund will be used to support classroom programs and scholarships in
the Lake Stevens School District.

Lake Stevens Education Foundation Tile Art Mural
The Tile Art Mural, Lake Stevens High School Performing Arts
Center.
For just $50 you can buy a tile that will be added to the Lake Stevens Education
Foundation's Tile Art Mural in the Performing Arts Center at Lake Stevens High
School. Tiles are engraved with two lines in honor of a student or community
member.
The Tile Art Mural is eight feet high and twelve feet wide. It depicts Mt.
Pilchuck with its foothills and valleys as they transition from Winter, to
Spring, to Summer, to fall, and back to Winter. The mural is hand painted on
688 six-inch tiles. The tiles were painted at the Blue Heron studio in
Issaquah, Washington, by a team of five artists. Helen DelaHunt-Leavitt of the
Blue Heron studio was the lead artist in the design and creation of the Tile
Art Mural. She was assisted in this creative adventure by artists Carol Stecher
Jones, Betty Kittle, Greg Leavitt and Stephen Temple.
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the contributions of Gary Cease of CECO
Construction who donated his time to install the mural, and Leslie Elsemore
whose leadership and direction helped make this project a success.
388 tiles bearing names of individuals, families and businesses in the Lake
Stevens community frame the mural. The name tiles were purchased through
donations to the Lake Stevens Education Foundation's endowment fund for the
support of programs and scholarships in the Lake Stevens School District.
You are invited to join your friends and neighbors in their support of education
in Lake Stevens. Please take this opportunity to invest in education today by
purchasing a tile in the next phase of the Lake Stevens Education Foundation's
Tile Art Project.
